Dr. Christopher Dillon
Piano Studio

An active recitalist, collaborator and church musician, Christopher Dillon recognizes that today’s music student needs a well-rounded musical education. His goal has always been to train the next generation to be musically self-sufficient, knowledgeable, and confident, having the skills to play whatever music they desire.

Christopher Dillon was featured piano soloist with the San Luis Obispo County Symphony at the age of 17. That same year, he attended the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal.

Dr. Dillon pursued his education at the Eastman School of Music, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute. While at Peabody, he studied with Julian Martin, Ellen Mack, and Robert MacDonald. After receiving his Doctorate from Peabody, he served as adjunct faculty there for three years; his pedagogical activities also include an appointment in piano to the Maryland Conservatory, as well as seven years of private teaching experience. Dr. Dillon is presently adjunct faculty at Towson University, where he has taught class piano, theory, and ear training.

Piano Studio: The piano studio features a vintage, restored Kawai 6’8” grand. For rate of repetition, dynamic range and nuance, a grand is unmatched. New strings and hammers have given this instrument exceptionally sustained tones. Every student will benefit by playing this fine instrument every week.
The studio itself is large and well-lit, with halogen track lighting over the piano. There is sufficient space for up to twenty students or family members, for ensemble classes, rehearsals, or recital preparation. A complete set of AV equipment is available for recording and playback, so that performances can be reviewed and critiqued by teacher and student.
